Retired Trades Union members helped to launch the new Islington Trades Council banner at Islington Town Hall. Attended by delegates from local Branches, the meeting was addressed by both Islington MP's Jeremy Corbyn and Emily Thornberry together with Councillor Catherine West and the TUC's deputy general secretary, Frances O'Grady. The meeting also heard from veteran campaigner Vic Turner, jailed in 1972 as one of the "Pentonville Five" dock workers and featured on the banner. |
